Train peer mediation coordinators to implement Peers Making Peace on their campuses. Peers Making Peace is the only science-based peer mediation program recognized and recommended by the U.S. Department of Education, the Center for Substance Abuse Prevention (CSAP) and the Office of Juvenile Justice & Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP).

Who should attend:
Experienced Peers Making Peace program facilitators who wish to train new coordinators in program design, implementation, and maintenance.

  1. Must have attended a 21-hour training and been certified through paxUnited.
  2. Must have a minimum of one year experience in implementing and maintaining a peer mediation program.

Please note that potential participants must complete an application, provide proof of program implementation and maintenance, and be approved by paxUnited in order to attend. 

You will receive:

  • Trainer certification - Trainer of trainers for Peers Making Peace within your district or organization.
  • Curriculum included - a Trainer of Trainers manual, which includes a copy of the Peers Making Peace Middle School Facilitator's Training Manual, a faculty orientation video and a copy of the award winning Peers Making Peace video.
  • The latest research and information from the Harvard School of Medicine: the latest information on interconnections of thought, feeling and physiological responses to life events; the importance of optimism and humor as resiliencies; and methods of cognitive restructuring.

Lead Trainer:
Susan Armoni, Ph.D., Executive Director of paxUnited, Peers Making Peace Program developer and founder of the peer mediation movement in Texas schools. Dr. Armoni has extensive experience in the field of prevention and is recognized as a national speaker, trainer, and author of numerous books and articles.
