Peers Making Peace - Facilitator Training

The Peers Making Peace (PMP) Facilitator Training is a 3-day, 21-hour certification training for Pre K – 12 teachers, counselors, campus/district level administrators and campus/district support staff. You will learn how to:

  • Implement the only proven and recognized conflict resolution program in the United States.
  • Gain the support of campus administration and school personnel.
  • Design a program to meet student and school needs.
  • Select a program coordination team.
  • Enlist the involvement of faculty and school personnel.
  • Inform the student body of the program’s goals and availability.
  • Select and train students to serve as peer mediators.
  • Maintain program fidelity.
  • Follow the Principles of Effectiveness set forth by the U.S. Department of Education SDFSC.

Peers Making Peace is the only conflict resolution program in the nation to be recognized by the U.S. Department of Education, the Center for Substance Abuse Prevention and the Office for Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention.

After attending the PMP Facilitator Training, you will be invited to join the Peace Partners™ Network; membership in this network provides ongoing technical assistance and networking opportunities with other program coordinators.

Cost:

Texas Participants - FREE (Cost is underwritten by a grant from the Criminal Justice Division of the Governor's Office). Minimal facilities fees may apply depending on site/host.

Non-Texas participants/Non-Texas Trainings - $850 per participant, click here for a printable version of the registration form.

Note: Materials are not included. Each campus or site will need to purchase an Implementation Kit (includes age-appropriate manual, site license to reproduce 30 student workbooks and two videos) for $325 in order to implement the program.
