Train peer mediation coordinators to implement Peers Making Peace on their campuses. Peers Making Peace is the only science-based peer mediation program recognized and recommended by the U.S. Department of Education.

Who should attend:
Experienced peer mediation coordinators who wish to train new coordinators in program design, implementation, and maintenance.

1. Must have attended a 21-hour training and been certified through paxUnited (formerly PeaceMakers).

2. Must have a minimum of one year experience in implementing and maintaining a peer mediation program.

Curriculum included—training manual, orientation video, and a site license to reproduce 25 student workbooks.

Safe & Drug Free Schools & Communities funds can be used to implement this program. Improve grades; decrease discipline referrals and violence while improving the academic environment. Educators say schools with Peers Making Peace are more caring places. Students say they feel better about themselves and safer knowing there is a place to go and talk things out. Parents say their children don’t argue as much. Peers Making Peace is the only conflict resolution program in the nation that has been recognized by the US Department of Education Safe & Drug Free Schools & Communities and the Center for Substance Abuse Prevention (CSAP).

Training includes the latest research and information from the Harvard School of Medicine:
The training includes the latest information on the interconnections of thought, feeling and physiological responses to life events; the importance of optimism and humor as resiliencies; and methods of cognitive restructuring.


Lead Trainer:
Susan Armoni, Ph.D., paxUnited Executive Director, founder of the peer mediation movement in Texas schools. Dr. Armoni has extensive experience in the field of prevention and is recognized as a national speaker, trainer, and author of numerous books and articles.
